Updated today at 9:56 AM. Refreshes every 10 minutes.
Touchtypely is new and the data is just starting to come in. The charts below switch on one by one as each gets enough numbers.
Speed
How many words per minute people type
Each bar shows the number of tests in that range. A word counts as five characters, including the space, and errors are subtracted.
We're still collecting data. This chart appears once we have 20 tests, so it never reveals anything about individuals. So far: 0.
Progress
How much people improve
Your first test compared with a check-in test of the same length after one week, two weeks, a month, six months, and a year.
We're still collecting data. This chart appears once we have 5 people with a check-in test, so it never reveals anything about individuals. So far: 0.
Errors
The hardest keys
Share of mistyped keystrokes for each character, across all practice sessions.
We're still collecting data. This chart appears once we have 2,000 keystrokes, so it never reveals anything about individuals. So far: 0.
Mix-ups
What people mix up most
They meant to type the key on the left and hit the one on the right. Last 180 days.
We're still collecting data. This chart appears once we have 30 mix-ups, so it never reveals anything about individuals. So far: 0.
Time
When people practice
Each square is one hour of the week. The darker it is, the more practice sessions and tests.
We're still collecting data. This chart appears once we have 100 sessions, so it never reveals anything about individuals. So far: 0.
States

We're still collecting data. States will show up once each has at least 5 people with a test.
Starting point
Where people start
First test results, grouped by how people rated their own skills when they signed up.
We're still collecting data. A group shows up once it has 5 people.
Where do you stand?
The test takes 30 seconds, and you'll instantly see how you compare with everyone else.
Take the testHow we calculate this: we only use aggregated numbers from tests and practice sessions by registered users, plus anonymous results from tests taken without an account. We never publish anything about a specific person, and every group has a minimum size. The comparison with the general population comes from an Aalto University study of 168,000 people (Dhakal et al., 2018).
